せんじゅう、きょかさんと会いました。ふゆやすみに日本に帰って友だちとあうつもると言っていました．今年のお正月はおばあさんの家に行くつもりです。．日本人はたいていお正月にじんじゃ(Shinto Shrine)に行っておいのり(pray)をします。
きょかさんは日本のお正月のほうがアメリカのお正月よりすきだと言っていました。日本語のおんがくのほうがアメリカのおんがくよりすきです。
子どもの時、きょかさんは家から学校まであるいて行くと言っていました．．三十分かかりました。
Japanese New Year's seems like it is much more spiritual than it's American counterpart. Other than going to parties and watching a big ball on TV, we don't really have any ceremonies that everyone follows. My family sometimes goes to my grandma's house to watch the Rose Bowl, but we don't do that every year.

そうですね、日本のお正月のほうがアメリカのよりもっとspiritualですね。Even though Japanese people are not so religious, they go to shrine/temple for the New Year's. Hey, but watching Rose Bowl, isn't it spiritual for American people? seems like football is in American people's psych!
私も毎年お正月にそふぼ(grandparents)にあいに行きます。じんじゃにも毎年行きます。
